Mr Verghese was recommended as the only person to see about my sciatica problem.. He proved to be a very charming & talented surgeon, who thankfully helped me enormously, as I can now walk again without that dreadful pain, caused by spurs pressing on my sciatic nerve. Apparently, he’s the surgeon fellow doctors would go to if they had problems....!

I can’t thank Mr Verghese enough for turning my life around. I had discectomy surgery (L4/5 and L5/S1) in late April 2018 and the outcome has been fantastic. I was really struggling with everyday life and in constant pain. When I met Mr Verghese in the initial consultation he made me feel comfortable and had plenty of time for me. He explained the MRI images and the reasons why I was experiencing the pain. When I went into hospital for the surgery, Mr Verghese met with me prior to the operation and then after the operation went to see my husband whilst I was in recovery to explain what he’d done and how I was. I then saw Mr Verghese the following two mornings whilst I was in hospital. I had the surgery at 5 o’clock in the afternoon and the following morning I was up walking a short distance and then a few stairs. The scar is extremely neat but physio told me not to underestimate the work I’ve had done in such a small space. I am so grateful to be out of pain and back to leading a normal life. I can’t speak highly enough of Mr Verghese. He has a lovely manner and I felt confident through the whole process. I would definitely recommend Mr Verghese, his surgery has transformed my life for which I’ll always be thankful.

Mr Verghese didn’t waste any time during my appointment. Unfortunately computer systems were down and he unable to access my records. Fortunately I had taken along an M.R.I scan report and with this information and an examination he diagnosed my problem and that I required an operation sooner rather than later. I was reluctant to have the operation completed privately but because of the pain which was untenable,together with the knowledge of his spinal expertise- I decided to go ahead. No one else had given me this option apart from pain medication. To wake up afterwards to basically just discomfort was a wonderful thing! Everyday I’m feeling better. Mr Verghese and his team were very attentive just before and after the operation. He has improved my quality of live tenfold. Many thanks.
